BIO: “I am juju. A hapa haole born in Salt Lake City (not mormon tho) but raised on the tropical island of Guam. My mother is Japanese, and my father is Caucasian (with French and English roots). I am Married to my best friend (Ryan) and we are living in Sunny San Diego.

My ongoing love affair with crafting started when I was a child. I just love to create things, and seem to get my hands dirty in all sorts of projects! Sewing, knitting, jewelry making, print making to name a few.

In July of 2007, I became a stay at home mom to a delightful little girl. Her name is Rio – yes, like the Duran Duran song I put my career on hold to be a stay at home mom. Only then did I realize how utterly hard it is to find cool baby clothes out there. I learned how to make fun stuff on my own in hopes to share it with others.

FYI (since some people seem to care): I am happy to report that we live in a smoke free environment, but not pet free – we have 2 loving cats in our home. (Although, I do try my best to keep them away from my projects.)”

Get your bl00b shirts ready, and make yourself some MN support paraphernalia! It’s official as of 08/08/08; Munkie Nut has reformed, and will resume playing gigs!

The current lineup reunites the three original guitarists; Dylan, James, and Jarrod. Dylan and Jarrod will resume guitar duties, while James takes over on bass.

Munkie Nut made their re-debut at the GMI production Fuck Shit Up IV, unveiling their “Secret drummer” as Tia Taitingfong of Rozlin Fair fame. The reintroduction was very successful, and the band was met with warm welcomes.

Well by definition the word means “crazy”, but to our new clothing line…it means “Island roots with Urban Style”
Now let me give you a little background of our clothing company. Basically we are three islanders, two from Guam and one from the Philippines. We all live in the Seattle area and love the urban culture. We first decided in September 2007 that we wanted to create a clothing line that would represent our island roots with our urban style. We know that this will be the first clothing line of its kind and it will be unique to so many people. We have created Kaduku Clothing for people like you to express your own style and to represent where you came from. In short the concept is simple…be proud, be crazy, be Kaduku and of course… be unique!”

Okay. So if anyone wants to sell their own merch through here shoot me an email with the following details:

email address and a contact name

photos and descriptions of the items

prices plus shipping costs

payment options you’ll accept (checks and money orders)

Please note that your items need to be art or music related and your own.

You don’t NEED an online shop to be added to ours and it won’t cost you anything*. Your own merch and a valid email address that people can contact you at is really all that is needed. Please note that we will not take responsibility for any issues regarding your sales. We’re basically just offering a place for you to advertise.

Those of you that get in now will not have to pay anything. We may start charging a small fee to those that join later should this thing take off.

When we start bringing in enough money, we may even discuss buying items directly from those of you with items you’re having a hard time selling on your own and then reselling them ourselves at festivals, shows and other events.

*Established business may be able to advertise for a fee, but we’re currently still discussing/figuring the prices and details.

————————–
What else would you like to see on the shop?

I know many of you don’t like seeing ads, but they are here to help us make a profit and still keep your membership on endignorance.com free, as well as keep this shop running. Money made through the ads will go to website upkeep, upgrades and more. It will also go to sponsoring bands, artists and shows, should we make enough. Please note that we only make a profit if you actually buy something (and not return it, although I believe exchanges are fine) and not just by the click count.

Not to worry though because we’ve decided to keep the ads off the main website so you’ll only see them when you want to. If you already shop online a lot, consider shopping through our ads for the things you want. Amazon doesn’t only sell music and books. They sell almost anything.

We also plan to contact Guam-based or Guam-made business to offer ad space, which will not only help us, but promote familial-support. Keep an eye out for that.

If you want to check out the ads, click here or the “Shop & Support” link on the sidebar.

Growing up in a small village town in Guam, TEEH had a rough childhood. From an early age she turned to the streets, and chose the gang life. At the age of 13, the reality of this lifestyle began to show it’s true colors when a close friend committed suicide. Within a few years, another childhood friend was beaten and killed. TEEH turned to music as an escape and wrote a song dedicated to her friend. A little later she would give birth to the driving force behind her life and musical inspiration, her son Tyler. She continued to write and compose music which became popular locally. Until videos of TEEH singing, rapping, playing the Hawaiian ukulele and using a class table as an instrument were put on YouTube by classmates. The videos have been viewed over 10 million times around the world. She is internationally known for her song “FUCK THE BICH”. Now, thanks to the support of her fans she has finally signed a record deal with 1980 Entertainment. She is currently working on her debut album which is to be release in 2008.”

Songs cover a variety of subjects. Some are love songs, others are about frustration found in everyday life and a few are instrumental pieces.

It took about two years to come to this point, from the CD’s inception in the minds of the band members to the concrete, hard copy, which features artwork by Shook.

One of the band’s most popular tracks, “Shelter”, was written in an hour and was recorded the next day. “Leocadia” and “Saturn” were improvised live in studio. The best takes made it to the CD.

I’ve been interested in henna for a while. My mother used to bring premade paste home from the states and have me draw flowers and swirls on her. We quickly discovered that pre-made paste is not very effective in staining.

A few years later with encouragement from a friend, who happens to be a tattoo artist, I decided to do some research. Now I make my own paste from natural henna powder. Beware of PPD laced “Black Henna”!!!

So I’ve been practicing on my friends, drawing whenever I get the chance, and have even had the oppurtunity recently to participate in my first event, Pure Persia. And on May 30th, I did my first fundraiser. It was an art auction for Guma Mami Inc. I donated 4 pieces and did henna by donation. All proceeds went to help support the non-profit organization that works to make the lives of persons with dissabilities better. I’m very excited about doing more fundraisers!

I’m constantly searching for more information. I enjoy learning about the scientific aspect of henna as well as it’s history in different cultures and regions. I hope to get peer certifcation soon also!

If you’d like to schedule a personal henna appointment or talk to me about an event, party, or fundraiser you can contact me by messaging me here on myspace or e-mailing: drea_nicole@yahoo.com ! I’d love to do more fundraisers, especially. I’m also looking for pregnant mothers. I just purchased some lavender oil to make a safe paste for belly blessings.”

Description: “The melting pot that is NYC’s Cholo would seem to have all the tools needed to create an expansive sound, but instead, they have decided to stick to the basics on their sophomore release, Unlimited Nights and Weekends. Opener, “The Breaks,” misguides the listener as Fleipe F’s multi-tracked sax leans towards a free-form jazz freak-out. As it settles into a more straight-forward pop song, forgiveness looms as Rosa B’s vocals teeter on the edginess of an Exile to Guyville’s Liz Phair, while the band falls into their rhythm – a well-practiced Pavement simplicity, mixed with the innocence of 69 Love Songs-era Magnetic Fields. It’s a start but a complete album of such agi-twee becomes tiresome and monotonous.

“Blue” again highlights Rosa’s gleeful, matter-of-fact delivery but suddenly takes a wild turn as she warns, “…and the bitch goes down.” The adolescence of the project cracks a bit with the weight of those words, but the cutesiness of the rest of the album holds it up so as to not tarnish the image they are projecting. Closing epic, “Low Life [I-III],” promises something of note but delivers only a longer version of what has already been heard.

Think of pop music as a cube, six-sided and shiny. Cholo has presented to us their unique take on this cube, with one corner shaved. In the end, what we’re left with is a die that doesn’t roll.

The group recorded it’s self-titled debut LP “cholo” in Brooklyn, New York in late 2004 and self released it September 2005. This first recording offers an early look at a band whose shoes are starting to scuff and on the cusp of defining their sound for recordings to come.

The term cholo is used in the Peruvian context with a double meaning that is both derogatory, as in an indigenous Indian living in urban surroundings (i.e. redneck, bumpkin), as well as a half-joking term of endearment. But in essence, it is a term for the underdog, representing the negative classifications used to define people by class, race, color and/or religion.

Description: Robert S. Condol was born in Cavite, Philippines on May 15, 1980. He would only stay in his birth place for a short while before moving to California. Rob moved back and forth between the Philippines and the US during his early years. As an infant his mother put a paint brush in his hands and Rob corrected his brush stroke before he could correct his grammar. Rob’s father also painted on the side and served as another artistic influence as he grew up.

While attending high school in the Philippines Rob sketched most of the art for the school newspaper. But that was the extent of Rob’s high school ambitions. During his high school years Rob spent more time on the streets than in school, and more time playing in different bands than studying. After some hard partying, a couple of stolen car rides, and countless police chases Rob jumped islands to Guam.

During his year in Guam, music was dominant in his life but a job at an art gallery left the biggest impression. Rob lived in a tiny shack along the coast and it was here he would sketch murals on huge canvas. Pre-occupied with his living situation he paid no attention to his murals and left to Las Vegas. After a short stint in Vegas Rob landed an assistant editing job in Burbank, CA the post production capital for the film industry.

Rob thrived as a video editor creating DVD special features, and assisted on several TV shows. He currently works for Roundabout Entertainment preparing TV Shows and movies for broadcast. Seemingly Rob had finally found a place and a job he could settle down with.

In March of 2007 Alberto J. Condol passed after a long battle with cancer. This event marked a turning point in Rob life. It was after this traumatic event he turned to canvas to help him get through the pain of his loss. He picked up a paint brush and with his father in mind he began a new journey in life as an artist. Now as a focused artist Rob continues to grow and develop his own unique style of painting. Rob attributes his strength as a person to his mother Carmen and sister Maggie, along with his large extended family Rob’s love for painting only goes as far as his love for his family and friends.

Description: “My name is Leilani Techaira. I am 23 years old and live on Guam. Since I was a child I’ve been finding outlets to express the things I have seen and have felt that I was not able to get out verbally. I started drawing seriously in 3rd grade, my first vanishing point piece. From 4th grade unto 12th I played flute in Concert and Advanced band. In 8th grade I picked up a second instrument: tenor sax. I played sax for Jazz, Concert and Advanced unto 12th grade. My Junior year of high school I took out my fathers Acoustic Ovation and taught myself guitar and have been playing since.

Upon entering college I thought I knew what direction my life was going to go in. Three semesters of art, music and general requirements I realized that I might have been wrong. So I have taken a break, and during that break I discovered photography. I also discovered a new level of passion that I have never felt before. I’m still a little unsure where I am going but I have definitely narrowed it down.

I have not found my niche in photography yet. But I do feel myself slowly being pulled towards photojournalism and find myself favoring black and white photography. I want to capture life that is as truthful and in the moment as it could be. I want to explore how we as humans behave towards one another and what our hearts are trying to get out at the same time.”
